Harsha Handicraft & Clothing ( Pushkar Designs ) is a clothing business established by 3 brothers originally from the small village of Sethan, near Pushkar. The business is operated from their large home in the bustling holy city of Pushkar, where there is a thriving marketplace and several clothing manufacturers. Jitesh Rankawet, the eldest brother, learned the tailoring craft in this competitive environment. He passed his skills down to his brothers, Lalit (left) and Kamlesh (right). They come from a devout family and extend to their customers the same sense of honour and fairness that they practice at home.
The business supports the brothers and their families and is expanding every year to include international wholesale customers (they have an export licence). They hire several in-house tailors and have many tailors under contract for specialty orders. Their designs include a core line of dresses, skirts and tops that use traditional Rajasthani textiles. They add new designs and textiles every year, with a flair for creating unique clothing (see catalogue). Most of the clothing in the catalogue can be fashioned in a variety of fabrics, and special orders or personal designs are encouraged.
